Apple Crisp:

5 cups peeled and sliced apples
1 tbsp. sugar
½ tsp. cinnamon
¼ tsp. nutmeg
⅓ cup apple cider

Topping:
⅓ cup of rolled oats
⅓ cup flour
⅔ cup of brown sugar
½ tsp. cinnamon
¼ tsp. salt
¼ pound unsalted butter, cut into pieces

Directions:

Apple Crisp:
Toss the apples with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and cider. Place in a 1 1/2 quart lightly butter serving bowl. Set aside and make the topping.

Topping:
Combine the dry ingredients for the topping in a small bowl. Place butter in a mixing bowl and gently mix in dry ingredients, until it resembles coarse crumbs. Spread over apples, bake at 350º for 30 minutes

Charlotte and I both like Apple Crisp and it has always been a quick and easy dessert,especially with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I like this recipe better than any I have tried,I think the secret that makes this one stand out from the others is the apple cider.
