¾ c. sugar
1 lg. egg
½ c. butter
½ c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
½ tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. cream of tartar
¼ tsp. salt
2 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º.
Chill the dough. Make into balls the size of walnuts; roll them in granulated sugar. Press the balls on a cookie sheet.
Bake for 8-10 minutes.

You may need to adjust your oven temperature as this is a very old recipe.

Grandma Josie used the bottom of a glass to flatten the cookies. These cookies are delicious and will melt in your mouth!
