For pie crust:
Sift flour and stir in salt. Cut in shortening with fork or pastry-blender until the size of small peas. Sprinkle in 1 tablespoon water, mix lightly; repeat until all is moistened. Gather up with fingers; form into a ball. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 1/2 hr.
On lightly floured surface, flatten ball slightly and roll 1/8 inch thick.
To transfer pastry, roll it over rolling pin or, carefully pick it up and transfer loosely to pie plate. Trim 1/2 to 1 inch beyond edge (I use scissors). Fold under and flute.

For filling:
Preheat oven to 350º F
Beat eggs thoroughly with sugar, dash of salt, corn syrup and melted butter. Add pecans. Pour into unbaked pastry shell.
