Shrimp Hot Browns Recipe

½ lb medium fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
5 T butter, separated
3 T flour
1½ c milk
1 pkt instant chicken broth and seasoning mix
1 tsp Old Bay Seafood seasoning
½ c sharp cheddar cheese, grated
8 plum tomatoes, sliced ¼ inch thick
4 bacon slices, cooked
1 pkg party rye bread

Preheat oven to 450º

In small skillet, melt 2 tablespoons butter. Add shrimp. Sauté until pink. Remove from skillet and set aside.

In medium saucepan melt 3 tablespoons butter over low heat. Add the flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add the milk while stirring constantly. Continue cooking until the mixture is thick and bubbly. Stir in the instant broth and Old Bay.

To assemble:
Spread party ryes on cookie sheet. Top with 1 to 2 shrimp. Place 1 tablespoon sauce on top of shrimp. Top with tomato slice.

To serve:
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until bubbly. Remove from oven, top with crumbled bacon.

Note: Leftover steamed shrimp can be used in this.
