½ cup sugar
½ cup shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 ¼ C flour
1 TBS baking powder
2/3 C milk
2 C frozen/fresh blueberries

Topping:
2/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup flour
½ margarine or butter
¼ tsp almond extract
Directions:
Directions:
Lightly grease & flour two 8-9” round baking pans. Beat sugar and shortening together until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well.

Add flour and baking powder. Mix until smooth. Add milk. Spoon batter into baking pans. Sprinkle blueberries over batter.

For topping, combine sugar and flour. Use pastry blender to combine butter and extract.

Sprinkle over top. Bake 35 minutes at 350º until toothpick comes out clean. Cool slightly and serve.
