1 lb. ground turkey, beef or sausage
½ c. green pepper, chopped
1 envelope Italian-style spaghetti sauce mix
1 ( 6 oz.) can tomato paste
¾ c. water
1 (12 oz.) tube refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
¼ c. plus 1 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese, divided
2 c. shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

Directions:

In a large skillet, cook and stir meat and green peppers over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain.
Stir in sauce mix, tomato paste and water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer for 7-10 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
Separate biscuits; press onto the bottom and up the sides of a greased 9 inch deep-dish pie plate to form a crust.
Sprinkle with ¼ c. Parmesan cheese; fill with the meat mixture.
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and remaining Parmesan cheese over the top.
Bake in preheated oven at 400º for 15-18 minutes or until crust is golden brown and cheese is melted.
