1 cup sugar
3 tbsp flour (heaping)
3 tbsp cocoa (heaping)
1 ½ cups milk
3 egg yolks
1 tsp vanilla
¼ tsp salt
½ can Eagle Brand milk

Directions:

Fillings:
Mix sugar, flour, cocoa, milk, egg yolks, Eagle Brand milk, and salt into a medium sized pan over medium heat stirring constantly. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to low and continue stirring until the mixture has thickened and has a glossy sheen to it. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Pour into a pre-cooked pie crust. Set aside to cool.

Meringue:
Add the 3 egg whites (left over from the yolks) to a mixing bowl and mix with a mixer until frothy. Add 3 tablespoons of sugar and continue to beat until they form firm peaks. Spread over pie and bake at 375º until golden brown.

Lorene always baked this chocolate pie when we visited her. It was always so good. I really miss her not only for her pie but also because she was always so much fun. We all have such good memories of her and were so blessed to have her in our lives.
