Ingredients: 3lbs ground beef, turkey or a combination of both 2tbsp olive oil 2 medium sweet onions (or 1 very large)- chopped 10 -12 cloves of garlic (about 1 head) finely minced or pushed through a garlic press 1 green bell pepper- chopped 2 cans red kidney beans - rinsed and strained ( 15 oz each +/-) 1 can black beans- rinsed and strained (15 oz each) 2 cans "regular or small dice" diced tomatoes -with juice ( 14-15 oz each) 2 cans ROTEL brand diced tomatoes with chilis -with juice ( 10 oz each +/-) 2 cans B&M "original" baked beans - with sauce ( 12-15oz each; other brands probably ok but I like B&M the best) 3 tbsp chili powder 4 tbsp ground cumin 3 tbsp dried oregano ½ - 1 tbsp dried basil

Directions:This goes together quickly and easily especially if you get all of the ingredients together as described before you start to cook. Measurements do not need to be exact - just close. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Cook meat until no longer pink; drain grease and set aside In large pot, add olive oil and onions; cook until softened Add, garlic and green pepper to onions and cook about three minutes - don't brown the garlic or it will be bitter Add all of the remaining ingredients to the pot as well as the cooked , drained meat Bring everything to a boil; lower the heat then cover the pot and simmer for 2-3 hours
** a couple of Hershey's kisses or similar chocolate can be added while simmering to boost the flavor**
Serve by itself, on top of macaroni, or on rice as you prefer.

Easy to make ahead and freeze. Nice in cold weather but good anytime.
