SAUCE:

4 TBSP MELTED BUTTER
3 TBSP FLOUR
1½ C MILK
8 OZ JAR OLD ENGLISH CHEESE

CASSEROLE:

2 C RITZ CRACKER CRUMBS
1 STICK BUTTER
2 10OZ PKGS SHAVED ALMONDS
2 CANS ASPARAGUS (DRAINED)

SAUCE:

Mix together flour & milk combine with melted butter & cheese. Cook over medium heat until melted, set aside.

CASSSEROLE:

Blend crumbs & butter. Pat ½ the crumbs I the bottom of buttered casserole 1½ quart dish. Place asparagus over crumbs top with ½ the almonds, pour cheese mixture over all. Top with remaining crumbs & almonds.

Bake @ 450º for 15 minutes.
