2/3 cups shortening
2 2/3 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 can pumpkin
2/3 cup water
3 1/3 cups AP flour
2 tsp soda
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
2/3 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Heat over to 350º. Mix shortening and sugar thoroughly. Add eggs, pumpkin and water. Measure flour by dip-level-pour method. Blend in flour, soda, salt, baking powder and spices. Stir in nuts if using. Pour into two well greased loaf pans or into multiple mini loaf pans.

Bake 65 to 75 minutes, until toothpick is clean.
