4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup lard or solid shortening
2 cups buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 teaspoon baking power
1 teaspoon baking soda
all purpose flour for dusting


Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375

Mix flour with salt, baking powder and baking soda. Mix lard in until mixture looks coarse. Add buttermilk, and stir until dough leaves side of bowl. Turn dough on to a lightly floured board, and knead until smooth. Roll out thickness of 1/20 inches and cut into 2 inch round circle. You can you a glass for this. Bake on ungreased cook sheet for 20 to 25 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.

Optional: Put butter on top while biscuits are hot.
