Ingredients:  
4 to 5 large russet potatoes, sliced in half and then in ¼ inch slices
1 large onion, chopped
1 tsp fennel seeds
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 quart water
4 cups chicken broth (2 cans)
½ pound hot sausage, browned
Pinch of salt (to taste)
4 dashes crushed red pepper flakes (or cayenne)
1 to 1½ cups heavy whipping cream
2 cups kale or Swiss chard, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Place onions, potatoes, chicken broth, water, fennel seeds and garlic in a pot and cook on medium heat until potatoes are done. Add sausage, salt and pepper to taste and simmer for another 10 minutes. Turn to low heat, add kale and cream. Heat through and serve.
