Ingredients:  
Ingredients:  
1½ tsp. cinnamon
1½ tsp. nutmeg
4 oz. granulated sugar
5 cups milk
6 egg yolks
4 oz. raisins
6 oz. fruit cocktail
¾ of a loaf stale French bread

Sauce

¼ lb. whole butter
¼ lb. brown sugar ( light or dark)
1¾ oz. rum or brandy
2 oz. heavy cream




Note; The original recipe was double the above quantities.

Mix all ingredients and let sit for about 1½ hours.

Bake uncovered at 325 º for 1½ hours or until toothpick comes out clean.

Bread Podding Sauce;

Melt butter, add brown sugar. When mixture becomes smooth add brandy or rum stirring well. Add heavy cream and serve hot over warm pudding.
