Ingredients: 1 whole Beef Brisket, Trimmed Of most Fat (3 To 5 Pounds) Ketchup 24 oz bottle (enough to coat top of brisket) 1 package Onion Soup Mix

Directions: |
Directions:Place trimmed brisket into a large baking pan. Mix ketchup with onion soup mix. Add 1 cup of water or more to make it slightly thin. Pour sauce over the meat, cover pan with foil (I add a little water in bottom of pan) Place covered pan into a 325-degree oven and bake for 5 to 6 hours. Depending on how large the brisket is. Check tenderness when brisket has been cooking several hours. Meat should come apart easily. When meat is done, remove from oven and place on a cutting board. Slice against the grain. Be sure to keep the extra liquid in pan and use a light gravy. |

Notes: An old colleague of mine passed me this recipe. Great Sunday cooking while watching football. My daughter Morgan requests this dish all the time. Mashed Potatoes with it is a must!
