2 tsp. sugar
1 ¾ cup lukewarm water
1 tsp. salt
5 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Rub yeast and sugar together until liquid. Add lukewarm water and salt. Make hollow in the center of the flour Add liquid mixture and mix to form a smooth elastic dough. Rub dough with a brush with butter and let stand until dough has doubled in bulk, over pan of hot water. Now toss on lightly floured board and knead slightly return to pan and let rise agine shape loaf and place on lightly floured baking sheet. Brush with butter and let rise till double in bulk.

Bake in hot oven 400 º degrees for 15 minutes, or 375 º for 30 minutes. 10 minutes before bread is done brush with following mixture

1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp.cold water
