¾ cup shorting
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
¼ cup water
1 cup raisins
1 cup flour
1 tsp. salt
½ tsp. soda
3 cups Quaker oats
1 tsp. vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Beat shorting and sugar, egg, water and vanilla together until creamy. Sift flour,salt, soda together and add to creamed mixture. Blend well. Stir in oats. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheets.

Bake at 350 º for 12 to 15 minutes

Makes 5 dozen
