2 c. sugar
½ c. water
⅛ tsp. cream of tartar
½ stick butter (to put on platter)
1 small can lightly salted spanish peanuts
1 lb. milk chocolate wafers/chips

Directions:
Directions:
Mix slightly sugar, water & cream of tartar in pan. Then cover with lid.
Put heat on low 3 or 4 and bring to boil on that temp. Put in candy
thermometer and when it reaches 240º (soft ball) take off heat. Pour
into a buttered platter dish. Let cool completely. Then begin stirring until
it becomes creamy & hard (can take up to an hour). Roll into balls.
Meanwhile, melt chocolate over double broiler & add peanuts. Place a
few balls of the mixture into the chocolate & spoon out onto wax paper.
Cool completely.
