Ingredients:
Ingredients:
4--8 cube steaks
Flour
Olive oil and butter
Lipton's Onion Soup Mix
Large onion, sliced
salt and pepper to taste
Mushrooms if you like them

Directions:
Directions:
Dredge cube steaks in flour on all sides
Preheat skillet with olive oil and butter
Brown meat in hot skillet and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

When nice and brown on both sides, remove to plate. Sprinkle a bit more flour in the pan drippings and brown the flour. Add water to make a thin gravy. Stir in 1 package of dry onion soup mix, and more water if needed.

Place a sliced onion on the bottom of pan (or baking dish if you choose to transfer from the pan). Place the browned cube steaks on top. Maybe add more onion slices if you would like. Cover and put in low oven (about 300 - 325) for an hour or so. Watch that the gravy doesn't cook down. If your lid isn't real tight, you may need to add more water. You can also cover with foil.

You can also cook at 275 for 2 hours or even longer. It doesn't really matter. Just don't let the gravy all cook out.

Cook several--they are great left over or in sandwiches the next day
