Ingredients: 2 sticks margarine 2 cups sugar 4 eggs 1 cup sweet milk 3 cups plain flour 3 level tsp baking powder 1 tsp vanilla

Directions:Preheat oven to 350º Cream margarine well Add sugar to margarine and cream Add eggs one at a time to the margarine mixture and beat well Sift flour, add baking powder and add to the margarine mixture Add vanilla and mix well Bake in (3) well greased pans (sprinkle them with flour after they are greased) **Here are the directions for how long to cook: "I bake at 350 until done. No two stoves bake the same, so bake as you always do for a layer cake" |

Ingredients: 3 cups sugar ½ stick margarine 1 cup sweet milk (may need more- have a spare can)

Directions:I had trouble deciphering this one: I think it says:
Mix all together Separate 2½ cups of the mixture and put in milk (not sure how much) Cook slowly In a separate iron skillet, put the other ½ cup of the mixture and brown Use a knife to stir it when it begins to brown Slowly add the iron skillet mixture to the other mixture and reach to boiling Cook until it forms a soft ball in real cold water (?) When done stir real good until it begins to get thicker If it gets too stiff to spread, add a small amount of sweet milk Add to top of cake
