1¼ lb ground beef crumbled
3 links Italian Sausage removed from casing and crumbled
1 tblsp dried basil
1½ tsp salt
3 c. canned petite diced tomatoes
12 oz tomato paste
2 tsp frsh minced garlic (or more to taste)

3 c 2% small curd cottage cheese (traditoonal ricotta is too dry)
2 tblsp dried parsley
2 beaten eggs
2 tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
½ c grated Parmesan(KRAFT)

1¼ lbs shredded mozzarella cheese
12 lasagna noodles

Directions:
Cook noodles in heavily salted water (like the ocean per Mario Batali) plus a tblsp oil so noodles won't stick
Rinse and set aside

While cooking noodles in a separate heavy deep skillet simmer meat and continue to break it up into crumbles
Add basil, 1½ tsp salt,tomatoes and paste and garlic. Simmer abou 10 minutes
Set aside

Mix cottage cheese,parsley, eggs, 2 tsp salt,pepper and parmesan in a bowl

ASSEMBLY:
Lay 4 cooked noodles across length of 13 x9 or lasagna pan. Take a 5th noodle and cut to fot exposed end of pan.
Noodles should be close together or slightly overlapped

Drop ½ of cottage cheese mix by heaping tblsps across top of noodles then gently pat to spread. If you are too exuberant the spreading will move the noodles
Cover this with ½ the mozzarella followed by gently spread ½ the meat
Repeat. Bake 30 minutes at 375º uncovered til bubbly. Remove and rest at least 10 minutes before cutting
