1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 tsp. baking soda
3 ripe bananas
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 cup shopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar; then add eggs one at a time.
Add dry ingredients; then fold in bananas and nuts.
Bake in a standard loaf pan in 350º oven for 40 to 50 minutes.

Mrs.Edwards was a member of my first church family and lived down the street. She often babysat me, and one time she let me help her make this Banana Bread and take it home to my family. I wrote down the recipe and have often made it for Christmas ever since. It is on the rich side so cut back on butter/margarine if you wish.
