Slovenian Nut Horns Recipe

1/2 lb. butter
2 tablespoons cream
3 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 eggs, divided


Nut Filling --

6 egg whites
Sugar, to taste (about 1 cup)
Ground walnuts (about 1 lb.)
1/4 apple, ground up, if desired (keeps filling moist)

Preheat oven 350º

Mix butter and flour. Add the 2 tablespoons cream, 6 egg yolks, and mix well. Add a little milk if needed to make stiff dough. Mix well and cut into 3 pieces. Roll each piece into 1X5" strips. Cut into 1/2 inch slices and form little balls. Chill at least 8 hours or overnight. When chilled, roll out each ball until dough is like tissue paper. Place one teaspoon of filling on one end of circle and roll up.

Bake for about 25 minutes or until lightly browned.
