1½ lbs (4 cups) Concord grapes
Slip skin from grapes
Set skins aside

Bring pulp to a boil, reduce heat, simmer uncovered for 5 min
Sieve to remove seeds
Add skins

Mix
1 cup sugar
⅓ cup flour
¼ tsp salt

Add
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp butter, melted, and grape mixture

Pour into 9 inch unbaked pastry shell

Preheat oven to 350º for 25 min

Meanwhile sift ½ cup flour with ½ cup sugar
Cut in ¼ cup butter until crumbly

Sprinkle on top of pie
Bake 15 min more

Betty Heller’s grape pie recipe is labor intensive, but awesome! We first remember her making it in 1976, when her grandson, Gabe Heller, was born. Then she made one for about every birthday and holiday. Yum!
