2 cups brown sugar
1 ½ cups white sugar
2 cups butter (no substitutes)
2 T vanilla extract
1½ tsp soda
1½ tsp salt
3 eggs
6 cups of flour
12 oz chocolate chips or 16 oz or M&Ms
Directions:
Directions:
1. Cream sugars, butter, and vanilla.

2. Add eggs one at a time.

3. Stir together flour, soda, and salt.

4. Add flour mixture to the creamed mixture.

5. Stir in the chocolate chips or M&Ms

6. Roll into rounded tablespoon of dough. I use a small "ice cream scoop" device.

7. Bake at 350º for 10 minutes. Cookies should be golden brown.

8. Leave on cookie sheet for a few minutes until set enough to place on wire rack.

Opal Squire was the grandmother of friend and co-worker, Connie Kuphal. I did a small favor for Connie many years age and she repaid me my giving me a copy of a cookbook that her family made as a tribute to her grandmother's many years of great cooking. The cookbook far outweighed the favor I did for Connie.
