2 c. sugar
1 stick margarine, softened
4 eggs, beaten
½ tsp. salt
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix the above ingredients together.

Slowly add in:
2/3 c. half & half or sour milk
4 c. flour
4 large bananas, mashed
chopped walnuts, optional

Pour mixture into greased and floured loaf pans.
Bake in preheated oven at 350º for 1 hour.

This is a recipe Grandma Betty's mom, Grandma Isabel Thier, made. It doesn't get any better than a slice of this banana bread slathered with butter!

(Note: Grandma Betty uses 5 - 4 x 6 inch foil loaf pans. This freezes very well and is great to give at Christmas for gifts to friends and neighbors.)
