8 ounce package of pitted dates cut in small pieces
¾ cup chopped walnuts
3 Tbsp butter
1 tsp soda
½ cup orange juice
½ cup water
1 cup sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 ½ c flour

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º
Grease a 9 x 5 x 3 loaf pan

Combine dates, nuts, butter and soda.
Bring orange juice and water to a boil.
Add boiling liquid to date mixture, stirring until butter melts.
Add sugar, eggs, vanilla and flour.
Mix well.
Bake for one hour or until done.
