** This bread is prepared 3 months ahead

2 ¾ cups flour
¾ cup sugar
1 Tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
½ tsp mace
1 ½ cup eggnog
¼ cup butter, melted
1 beaten egg
1 Tbsp rum
¾ cup chopped pecans
¾ cup candied fruit

Preheat oven to 350 *
Grease 9x3 loaf pan.

In a large bowl mix first 5 ingredients.
Stir in eggnog, butter, egg and rum just until flour is moistened. Mixture will be lumpy.
Fold in pecans and candied fruits, and spread mixture in pan.
Bake 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean.
Cool for 10 minutes on rack, then remove from pan and cool completely.
Wrap bread and freeze for 3 months
Unwrap 1 hour before serving.
