2 ½ cups flour
1 cup sugar
3tsp double-acting baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 egg, well beaten
1 cup milk

Preheat oven to 350º
Grease and flour 5x10x3 bread pan

Sift together dry ingredients.
Combine milk and egg.
Mix with dry ingredients until moistened.
Stir in 1 cup coarsely broken nuts

Pour batter into pan and bake 50 -60 minutes

This nut loaf should be wrapped and stored for 24 hours before seving in order to obtain thin even slices.

To save on sugar: use ¾ cup white corn syrup and ¼ cup sugar. Reduce liquid to ¾ cup plus 1 Tbsp.
