2 c. sifted flour
½ tsp. baking powder
¾ tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
¼ c. buttermilk
1 c. mashed bananas (2-3 whole bananas)
½ c. butter
1½ c. sugar
2 eggs well beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
3 bananas sliced

Frosting:
1 large banana mashed
½ tsp. lemon juice
¼ c. butter
3½ c. sifted powdered sugar

Cake Prep:
Sift flour, baking powder, soda, and salt then set aside. Add buttermilk to mashed bananas and set aside. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy then add eggs and vanilla and beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients alternating with milk and banana mixture, beating well after each addition. Pour into 2 8 inch round greased cake pans. Bake at 375º for 30 minutes. Cool then put layers together with frosting and garnish with sliced bananas.

Frosting:
Mix banana and lemon juice together. Cream butter and 1 c. of sugar then add banana mixture. Use remaining sugar to get frosting to a spreadable consistency.
