1 1/2 cup rice, uncooked
1/2 cup butter
1 can consomme soup, undiluted
1 can onion soup, undiluted
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 bay leaf, broken in half
1/2 lb fresh mushrooms sliced

Preheat oven to 350º

1. In an ovenproof casserole, begin melting the butter. Add mushrooms as butter is melting and sauté.

2. Add remaining ingredients except the rice. Gently heat mixture, then pour the rice in.

Mushrooms will float to the top. Discard bay leaf. Stir rice to mix in the mushrooms.

Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

Makes 6-8 servings.

A big crowd pleaser! Easy to make - this can be prepared ahead and baked at a later time. This makes a great side dish for meat, chicken, lamb etc. This is a simplified version of an original recipe from renowned Bay Area Chef Flo Braker
