!/2 cup sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/2 cup water
3 egg whites
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Combine 2 tbsp sugar and cornstarch in small saucepan. Add water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until soft mounds form.
Add 6 tbsp sugar gradually to egg whites, beating well after each addition.
Add cornstarch mixture, salt and vanilla.
Continue beating until meringue stands in stiff peaks.
Cover pie with meringue, brown in oven, 450º for about 5 minutes.
