5-6 quarts of popped corn
2 cups brown sugar
2 sticks butter
½ cup white corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Place popcorn in large roasting pan. Using another pan, prepare caramel mixture by combining brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup. Boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add vanilla, salt, & soda, Blend and pour over popcorn, mixing well. Place in oven @ 250º for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally from bottom.
*peanuts may be added if desired.



Microwave method:
Place popped corn into large grocery bag that has been sprayed with PAM. Microwave on high for 4 minutes with sugar, butter syrup and salt. Stir. Microwave 4 more minutes. Add soda and stir until frothy. Pour over corn in grocery bag and shake well. Place bag back into microwave and cook on high for 3 minutes. Again Shake and return to microwave for 1½ minutes. Spread on waxed paper. This recipe omits vanilla.
