2 C dry chick peas
Water to cover chick peas
2 onions chopped
Kolonji (nigella) seeds
Salt

Directions:
Directions:
Soak the chick peas overnight in water, leave on stovetop or counter. Drain and add to pot w/water to cover. Boil until soft. Drain. In a sautée pan, cook down the onions with a little olive oil. Break down the onions as much as possible, adding a little water here and there to help. When the onions are working into a paste, add the cooked chick peas, salt to taste, and kolonji seeds, stir to combine. Serve as a main course or a side with chicken or fish.
