2 T. butter
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 T. water
1 can (8 oz.) sliced pineapple, drained and halved
4 maraschino cherries, halved
1-1/3 cups flour
2/3 cup sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
2/3 cup milk
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 large egg
1 tsp.vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Melt 2 tablespoons butter in bottom of 9 inch baking dish. Stir in brown sugar and water. Spread evenly in pan. Arrange pineapple and cherries in a single layer on top of brown sugar. Set aside. Combine dry ingredients; add milk, butter, egg and vanilla. Beat on low speed until combined. Beat on medium speed for 1 minute. Spoon batter into prepared pan. Bake at 350ºF for 30 to 35 minutes. or until a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 5 minutes. Loosen sides with a knife and invert pan onto serving plate. Best served warm with whipped cream.
