Variety of canned beans (get one of each)
(not green, lima, or garbanzo)
1 large can of crushed tomatoes
1 pound hamburger (this varies depending on serving sizes)
1 pound of Bacon
1/2 c. of Brown sugar
1/2 c. yellow Mustard
Onions
Green/yellow/red peppers
1 large can V-8 juice

Directions:
Directions:

Brown hamburger and add diced onions and green peppers. Add cans of beans with liquid. Add tomatoes.
Add brown sugar and mustard.

Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder and sweet basil flakes to taste.

Bake at 350 for 3 hours or until thick. If it gets too thick, you can add the V-8 juice before serving.

I make this in a large roasting pan. And depending on how many you want to serve, you can increase or decrease the meat and beans. I don't really measure anything. So feel free to throw in whatever you like. It should be sweet, but not too sweet…

I've been making this for over 35 years. It's a family favorite.
