1 gal vanilla ice cream softened
1 gal chocolate ice cream softened
1/2 cup Kahlua
4 bars Trader Joe’s English Toffee, finely ground
2 packages ladyfingers
1 cup Whipped cream to decorate

Directions:
Directions:
Use 9-1/2” spring form pan.

1. Butter pan lightly. Line bottom and sides with ladyfingers.

2. Brush ladyfingers with some Kahlua.

3. Sprinkle ground toffee on top of bottom layer of ladyfingers.

4. Mix softened ice creams until blended with the remainder of the Kahlua.

5. Freeze in plastic container.

Before serving - use whip cream to decorate the top of the Charlotte.

The John Steinbeck House is Steinbeck's boyhood home in Salinas, CA. It is a restored Queen Anne Victorian house that is now a restaurant. This dessert is Helen Kwan's variation of the dessert served there.
