1 1/2c. Crisco
3 c. sugar
7 eggs
3 c. plain flour
1 c. milk
1 bottle red food coloring (Sauers Red)
2tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. lemon
1/3 tsp. salt

Icing
1 8 oz. cream cheese
1 box confectioners sugar
1 stick margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon extract
enough milk to thin

Preheat oven 325º

Cream Crisco, sugar, eggs together, slowly add in flour and alternate with milk and mix well, add vanilla, lemon and salt until combined.

Pour into large cake pan and bake 1 1/2 to 2 hours or 2 round pans for about 35 -40 minutes.

For the icing mix all ingredients except the milk until smooth. Add milk to thin out to the consistency you like for your icing.

Ice cake when completely cooled.
