1 pkg (2 layer size) white cake mix
1 cup boiling water
1 pkg. (3 oz) Jello - Strawberry Flavor
1/2 cup cold water
1 tub (8 oz) Cool Whip

Directions:
Directions:
Bake cake per package directions (usually in 13X9 pan). Cool cake 15 min. Pierce cake at 1 inch intervals (using back of wooden spoon).

Add boiling water to Jello mix. Stir 2 min., until fully dissolved. Stir in cold water. Pour over cake. Refrigerate 3 hours. Frost with Cool Whip. Refrigerate 1 hour.

The Kraft recipe said to use a large fork for the piercing, but I recall Grandma Fry using the handle of a wooden spoon.
