3 c. flour
3 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco
6 eggs, separated
¼ t. soda
1 c. buttermilk
½ t. salt
2 t. lemon extract

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and Crisco, add egg yolks one at a time. Add extract.
Mix dry ingredients, add buttermilk, then add to rest of batter.
Beat egg whites until stiff, then fold into batter. Pour into a greased & floured tube pan.
Bake 1 hour at 350. Do not open oven until hour is almost up.
