2 packages sweet Italian sausage (2/3 sweet, 1/3 hot)
1 onion
1 14-oz can diced tomatoes
1 14-oz can tomato sauce
2 green peppers, cut into pieces
2 red peppers, cut into pieces
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/8 cup sugar
salt

Directions:
Directions:
Semi freeze sausage for about 3 hours. Take out of freezer and slice each link into 4-5 pieces. Slice onion and set aside. Wash and slice peppers into strips and set aside.

Put sausage into frying pan and fry until light brown, stirring often. Add sliced onion and continue cooking until onions are soft, stirring often. Add peppers and continue to cook until sausage is blackened on at least one side. (this may take some time). Continue to stir periodically.

Drain the can of diced tomatoes and add them to the sausage. Add tomato sauce, sugar, salt and Parmesan cheese. Cover and cook for about 2 hours on low heat, stirring occasionally.
