1-2/3 cups all purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 cup finely ground pecans
1/4 t. salt
1 cup butter, softened
1 t. vanilla extract
Garnish: powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, sugar, nuts and salt using hands; work in butter and vanilla until mixture holds together. Chill for one hour. Shape into crescents; place on ungreased baking sheets and bake for 10 to 12 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool and roll in powdered sugar. Makes 3 to 4 dozen.

This is James' absolute favorite cookie, it is really a Christmas cookie but I have made it for his birthday twice...he loves it when we dip the ends of the cookies in melted dark chocolate and let them dry.
