1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup shortening
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon hot water
1 pkg. Butterscotch chips
2 cup quick-oatmeal
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 to1 cup nuts optional

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar, Mix. Add eggs, then hot water.
Add flour mixed with soda and then vanilla
Add oatmeal, chips and nuts, if any

Drop by teaspoon on cookie sheet. Bake at 375º for 10 minutes
