1 tablespoon dry yeast
1 cup warm water
2 cup buttermilk
3/4 cup oil
1/4 cup sugar
2 tsp salt
4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
6 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in buttermilk and oil.

Combine dry ingredients. Stir in wet mixture and mix well. Place dough in covered bowl in refrigerator.

Shape into biscuits and bake at 425º approx. 18 min. No need to let rise before baking.

The genius of this recipe is that it combines the speed of a quick bread with the flavor of yeast rolls. We also use it as a base recipe for sweet rolls, and sometimes we leave out most of the sugar and use it as the crust for our Creamy Chicken Pockets.
