1 c. sugar
1 c. raisins
1 c. cold water
1/2 c. crisco
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
pinch of salt
2 c. sifted flour

bring to a boil:
1 c. sugar
1 c. raisins
1 c. cold water
1/2 c. crisco
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
pinch of salt
take off of burner and let cool.
Mix in 2 c. of flour
Bake in a greased and floured loaf pan at 350ºF for 1 hour
