2 cups sugar
1/2 - 3/4 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
1 pound (2 cups?) honey
5 cups flour
2 t. baking soda dissolved in 1 cup hot black coffee
1/2 - 1 t. grd. cloves
1 t. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together sugar, oil, eggs at high speed. Continue beating in the honey until foamy.
At low speed, add coffee, flour, and soda.
Lastly, add cloves and vanilla. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 11 inch pan.

Bake at 350º for 1 hour.

This recipe was given to my mother by Mrs. Narotsky, who used to give us a cake about once a year. She never used a recipe herself so putting it on paper was all guess work.
