4 1/2 cup flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup shortening
1 cup butter flavored shortening
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp orange juice
4 eggs
1 pkg (12 oz) chocolate chips
2 cup chopped pecans
2 tbsp finely chopped orange peel

Preheat oven to 350º

Combine flour, soda, and salt. Set aside. Combine sugars, shortening, vanilla, and juice. Beat until mixture is creamy. beat in eggs. Add flour mixture 1/2 cup at a time mixing well after each addition. Stir in chocolate chips, nuts, and orange peel. Refrigerate dough several hours or overnight. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 10 - 12 minutes. Cool cookies 2 minutes before removing from pan to wire racks
