1 cup sugar
2 cups melted butter
2 cups powdered sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
4 1/4 cups flour
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon zest
1/2 cup sugar (additional)

Directions:
Directions:
mix together all ingredients, leave out additional sugar
chill dough for at least one hour
make walnut sized balls of dough, then roll in the additional sugar before placing on a greased cookie sheet
flatten with fork
Bake on 325ºF for 12-15 minutes
let cool and enjoy!
