½ cup spry (shortening)
½ tsp salt
1 ½ cups brown sugar
1 cup sifted flour
1 tsp vanilla
2 beaten eggs
2 tablespoons flour
½ tsp baking powder
1 ½ cup shredded coconut
1 cup coarsely cut meats

Directions:
Directions:
Combine spry and salt. Add ½ cup brown sugar and cream well. Add 1 cup flour and blend. Spread into 8x12 coated pan. Bake in slow oven 20 minutes. Add remaining cup of sugar and vanilla to eggs until thick and foamy then add 2 T flour, baking soda and coconut. Spread over baked mixture. Return to slow oven and cook for 25 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
