1¾ C. milk
½ C. sugar
2 tsp. salt
½ tsp. nutmeg
2 tbsp. butter
½ C. lukewarm water
2 packages or cakes yeast
3 eggs
6 C. sifted flour

Directions:
Directions:
Scald milk.
Remove from heat and stir in sugar, salt, nutmeg, and butter; cool to lukewarm.
Measure lukewarm water into bowl add yeast; stir until dissolved.
Add milk, beaten eggs, and half the flour (3 cups).
Beat until smooth.
Cover and let rise until double in bulk.
Put out on board and knead lightly.
Divide dough and roll each half into a circle ½" thick.
Let rise, cut with cutter, fry in deep fat 3-5 minutes.
Drain and sprinkle with sugar.
