2 t. olive oil
1 lb. ground Italian sausage
1 onion (chopped)
1 green bell pepper (chopped)
3 garlic cloves (chopped)
1 (32 oz) container of chicken broth
1 (15 oz) can of tomato sauce
1 (14.5 oz) can of petite diced tomatoes
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. crushed red pepper (optional)
1/2 c. fresh basil (chopped)
3 T. Parmigiana cheese
1/2 c. mozzarella cheese (shredded)
-Bread
- 6-10 lasagna noodles

1. Heat oil over med.-high heat in large sauce pan
2. Add sausage, onion, bell pepper, and garlic
3. Cook over med. heat (or med.-high), stirring occasionally, until sausage is crumbled and brown (8-10 min.)
4. Add the broth, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, salt, and crushed red pepper
5. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally until flavors blend (about 20 min)
6. Add the noodles; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, sitting occasionally, until soup thickens slightly and noodles are
tender (10-12 min)
7. Remove from heat; stir in cheeses and basil
8. Serve with bread
